FOOTBALL: Coppell extends Bell’s losing streak

Coppell 44, Bell 10

It was another painful loss for Bell this week with a blowout against Coppell. Although the game looked promising early, it quickly became a disaster midway through the second quarter.

The defense couldn’t stop the run and the offense couldn’t get points on the board against the Cowboys. Bell is on a five-game losing streak and needs to quickly turn this around or they could be heading for another waste of a season.

The only good plays to take away from this is a strong special teams game led by Dunlop and his powerful leg to give Bell some points, and Ricky Walton with a good return game piling up around 70 yards of total return yardage.

Bell needs three wins to get into the playoffs while their upcoming schedule features powerful teams such as Trinity and South Lake which displays the fact that Bell better get a win next week against the Richland Rebels if they hope to stay alive in the hunt for the State Championship.
