Richland 34, Bell 27
Oct. 2, 2015
This was so much more exciting than the previous game against Coppell—another overtime game similar to the first game of the season. The offense was flowing and the defense made important stops. Even though Bell lost, it still gives a little hope for next week’s rivalry game.
The game was a back and forth match that made the audience get on their feet and get excited for the Blue Raiders. During the second half, it looked as if Bell would pull away with their first victory of the year, but Richland put clutch drives together to prevent losing on homecoming night.
Dominique Lawson played the best he’s played all season. Terry Pace and Ivan Trailor ran well throughout the game. The offensive line blocked great to let Bell move the ball with ease. In overtime Lawson made great passes but the receivers dropped key passes to put the game away. Richland then obtained the ball and scored the winning touchdown.
Bell now has to win three out of their next four games if they want to make the playoffs. They are playing an undefeated powerhouse and they hope they can pull off with the long awaited upset of the Trinity Trojans.
