Ghouls, goblins and more all come to life in the month of October, and everyone is preparing for the festive event of the season: Halloween. Not only are people “spooking” up their yards and restocking their shelves with delicious treats, some are even challenging themselves to create something absolutely devilish everyday of the month.
Created by Jake Parker in 2009, Inktober is a challenge that requires you to draw one ink drawing for every single day of the month to encourage great drawing habits. Since 2009, the idea has taken flight and many artists enjoy participating in the joyous event.
“1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it on your blog (or tumblr, instagram, twitter, facebook, flickr, Pinterest or just pin it on your wall.)
3) Hashtag it with #inktober
I encourage everyone to participate in the “spine-chilling” occasion, but even if you feel that you aren’t the best artist I suggest you checkout and support the artists who are. Happy inking!
